You’re ambitious for external engagement. And you should be.
But you also need to take into account how ambitious your organisation is overall.
Does it have high income targets, or a plan to transform public or political attitudes over the next strategy period? Or is it all about holding steady, making little incremental tweaks?
Whenever we develop external engagement strategies, we ask clients: how big is the change you want this to make for your organisation?
(And then we usually encourage them to think bigger!)
Whether you opt for ‘same but better’ or ‘transformation, ranking your level of ambition helps you set objectives, know how much to invest, and what to prioritise.
